Rooted in Ames and serving working farms across Story, Boone, Marshall, and Hardin counties.

Since 1978, Northline Grain & Feed Co. has supplied independent growers and livestock producers with the seed, feed, and agronomy inputs they need to keep the valley producing. Our yard on Dayton Road is a short drive from downtown Ames, and our delivery trucks cover a 60-mile radius six days a week.

Seed & Genetics

Certified corn, soybean, and small-grain seed from regional breeders. We stock hybrids matched to central Iowa heat units: 108 to 116 RM corn and 2.4 to 3.1 maturity group soybeans.

  • Corn: 14 hybrids, conventional and traited
  • Soybeans: 11 varieties, including XtendFlex
  • Cover crop blends by the 50-lb bag

Blended Feed

Custom rations for beef, dairy, swine, and poultry, mixed in our 6‑ton ribbon blender. Bring us your hay test or forage analysis and we will build a ration to match your operation.

  • Beef: creep, grower, and finishing blends
  • Dairy: 16% and 18% protein pellets
  • Mineral and protein tubs, salt blocks

Crop Protection

Herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides from Bayer, Corteva, and Syngenta. Our licensed applicators write prescriptions rooted in field scouting, not guesswork.

  • Tank-mix programs for corn and soybean
  • Adjuvants, surfactant, and drift control
  • Emergency pest and disease recommendations

Now through March 15, delivery runs start an hour later because of frost law weight restrictions.
